Random Pictures
I just wanted to add some more pictures that I've been taking lately of my boys. The one with Garett's hands in the air was taken because Wyatt did that as a newborn too. When Wyatt was three weeks old, we went to a baby shower a friend held for us. As friends were holding Wyatt, he kept both arms pointing to the sky! Garett's just like his older brother. But, then again, they're different... at this age, Wyatt's arms were so short, he couldn't touch the top of his head. Garett, on the other hand, is a monkey! :)

Fashion Fun
Ok, so I know my son is not a baby doll to play dress-up with but I just had to put this one little outfit on him! I bought this tie onesie before he was born. It's a premie size. Let me explain that first: since Wyatt was so little, I just expected to have another little one. Garett obviously is not little and so the onesie looks like a "muscle shirt" on him (daddy's words). The outfit was not worn for more than a few minutes -- long enough to get a few pics of him all dressed up! :)
The awesome shoe socks are from my mom. He has all sorts of colors - red, blue, dark blue, black, orange, etc. They're stylin'! I think with his size, he could definitely be the next Globe Trotter... if only his parents were good enough to teach him the game. I guess Grandma Wheeler can teach
him her awesome granny shot from half-court!!

Big Brother's Love
Wyatt is doing an amazing job of being a big brother! He loves to help with grabbing supplies, pacifiers, blankets, and he has even helped feed Garett a few times with the bottle. Today, he asked me to hold Garett. I needed to feed him real quick so I told him he could do the burping when I was done. So I kept to my promise and, when Garett was done feeding, I gave him over to Wyatt for some burping. Well, the big brother did a fine job because some good bubbles came up! Here's a fe
w pics of the happening!

Uncle Josh's Visit
Over the weekend, we had a special visitor - Josh, Jake's older brother! He spent Friday through Sunday with us. We enjoyed eating at a few restaurants (a hole-in-the-wall bbq restaurant with tasty ribs and our fav mexican restaurant with thirst-quenching margs!), spending some time on post, and just relaxing and playing at home. Wyatt loved playing with his uncle and we look forward to another visit from Uncle Josh! :)

Wyatt Starts "Cool"
Ok, for those of you not familiar with Wyatt-language (aka the language of a three year old who doesn't pronounce s or f very well or at all), Wyatt started SCHOOL this week! Thank goodness... he gets lots of play time with friends his age and I can get some good rest while Garett sleeps. I don't remember being this tired with Wyatt!!
Anyhow, Wyatt is going to daycare three days a week for about 6 hours a day. He seems to be enjoying it. Both days that he's gone so far, he's wanted to dress himself. Well, while my mom was visiting recently, she taught him that the tag on his clothes goes in the back. So he says that as he gets dressed: Tag goes in the back! (not perfectly clear but we get it)
Here's some pics of Wyatt's best efforts at getting himself dressed! One day, I did change his outfit (the shirt had tons of stains and the shorts were backwards) but today, I did not! I sent some extra clothes (shorts and a shorter shirt) just in case he wants to change later or gets hot. But, man, how cute is he! And I just love how he works so hard to pick out the outfit and his face is beaming when he comes out show me!!!

Garett's 2-Week Appointment
Today was Garett's 2-week appointment. Actually, it was supposed to be Monday but I totally spaced it. Not like I've been tired, exhausted, or completely drained!! We had to see Dr. Starbuck since our doctor, Dr. Faught, is on a TDY. The doc said Garett looks good and seems to be quite healthy. Here's his stats:
Weight: 9.6 pounds -- birth was 8.10
Height 21.5 inches -- birth was 20.5
Head: 14.5 inches -- don't remember birth size!
After the doctor's appointment, I took the boys to a bible study on post. It was nice to let Wyatt play with kids in the childcare while Garett had to stay with me -- not like I will complain about that! He did start to get hungry at the end though. I'm not that comfortable yet with nursing in public (covered up, of course!) so I used the pacifier to satisfy him till we could get to Jake's office to nurse.

Thank you, Mom and Dad!
I just wanted to say thanks to my folks for spending time with us recently. My mom was able to fly in the day I delivered Garett and she stayed for two weeks. She was so helpful, especially with Wyatt and housework. She even did tons of projects while she was here: made curtains and a crib duster for Garett's room, made a bed topper and curtains for Wyatt's room, hung sheer curtains at the front door, and many other things!! Did the projects stop when dad showed up? No! My dad mowed our yard and fixed the towel rack in the boys' bathroom and the door in the guest bathroom. We feel really fortunate to have family members willing to help us out!
Thanks for visiting, mom and dad! The day you left, Wyatt was asking where mama and papa went. He even thought he saw papa's car at a neighbor's house. We're excited for Christmas time when we'll get to see you again and Jen, Justin, and Luke (if everything works out). Love you!

Introducing Our Family of Four!
After keeping up a blog for baby, I've decided to switch over to this one mainly because Jake said the last blog was for baby, not family stuff! :)
So here's our new blog site! Now that we are a family of four, I'll have lots to write about! I hope you all enjoy reading up on us as our adventurous life continues as a family.
