Jake has been gone for a little over 24 hours and I have already made a trip to the E.R.!!
were getting ready to head to the pool for an afternoon swim when Wyatt decided to meet face-to-face with the concrete driveway. Ouch! He cried and it bled... boy, did it bleed! But I got him cleaned up quickly and applied pressure. I was a bit impressed with myself. I only say that because usually I perform "quick feet" and freak out, passing the wounded/sick/mamed off to Jake. Turns out I do pretty well under pressure when someone's life (or eyebrow cut) lies in my hands. :)I wasn't sure if I should take him to the hospital but the skin seperated quite a bit; it wasn't deep at all. Super glue could have done the trick but knowing me, I would have super glued my hand to his forehead and that would have made for an embarrassing story at the E.R. The nurse took good care of him and applied the hospital form of super glue and another band-aid. He can go swimming tomorrow evening so that's good news! :)
And thanks to our awesome neighbors, Anna and Eddy, for watching Garett for me. It made the hospital visit a bit more bearable. And they said Garett was wonderful for them, all smiles and giggles. So what the heck, kiddo? Why are you being so cranky around me???

ya, yuck. i feel for you. mckenzie is really finicky with chewing food and, fairly often, chokes on it - no matter how small or mashed up the bite is. as soon as i see her starting to choke my heart flips and i start yelling for ben! i grab her out of her chair and hand her over to "daddy!"
i think i can handle the other stuff better (i've lived through a 2 year old with a broken leg and MANY 104 degree fevers...) but something with the choking just FREAKS me out! so, i sympathize with your reference to "quick feet" and freaking out :o)
